Sandra June Caranda

Sandra J. Caranda, Loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at her residence, on Thursday, September 22, 2022. She was 86 years old.
Born on September 25, 1935, in Steubenville, the daughter of Edgar Lowe and June Morgan Speaks, and her Stepfather William Speaks.
A Protestant by faith, Sandra later became a member of Saint Paul’s Roman Catholic Church. She was a member of the 1953 graduating class from Jefferson Union High School.
She married Samuel Caranda on December 4, 1954, they have been blessed with five children.
Sandra was her happiest when she was home around her family, she spent some of her spare time caring for and riding her horses, bowling, and making crafts.
She was a very loving and caring person, offering all she had to her family, especially her adoring grandchildren.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents.
Remembering Sandra with love and admiration, are her Husband of sixty-eight years, Samuel, sons Mark (Cathie) Caranda, and Michael Caranda all of Weirton, daughters Kim Giarletto of Wintersville, Natalie (Mike) Postlethwaite of Weirton, and Karen (Bob) Cowden of Rio Verde, AZ., grandchildren Mark Jr., Shawn, Melissa, Matthew, Tiffany, Sarah, Michaela, and Bethany, and ten great-grandchildren, and sister Virginia D’Andrea of Tennessee.
A private family Liturgy of the Word Service was held on Monday, September 26, 2022.
Fr. Sebastian Binu officiated.
Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Mingo Junction.
