sarah graham
Sarah Ellen Graham was born to Max and Ethel Mae Catley Hileman in Garretts Run, PA, on August 18, 1918. She grew up in McGrann, PA, with four sisters, Thelma, Maxine, Lois, and Barbara; and one brother, Peter. On December 20, 1937, she married Duncan Graham. They had three daughters, and they resided in Weirton. Duncan was a motor inspector in Weirton Steel, and Sarah was a nurse's aide at the Weirton General Hospital, from 1954 until 1977, where she cared for the new born babies in the nursery . They were members of the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Weirton. Sarah and her husband enjoyed spending time together, especially on the golf course of Pleasant Valley Country Club, where they were life members. They also loved to travel and were able to visit all of the 50 States. After retirement they enjoyed their winter months in Florida. Duncan passed away on Wednesday June 21, 2000, and Sarah three years later on Friday, July 25, 2003. Sarah is survived by her three daughters; Linda and Dr. Thomas Canfield of Montrose, Colorado; Ethel Bird of Weirton, WV, and Mary and Jim Salser of Ravenswood, WV; a sister Barbara Ruth; grandchildren, Jo Lynn Scotch, Anna Cooling, Leah Voorhis, Susanne Canfield, Timothy and Matthew Salser; two great grandchildren, Rilee and Kennedy Voorhis. Friends and relatives will be received Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM, at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV. Funeral Services will be private. Interment will be in Highland Hills Memorial Gardens.
