Sheila Hughes, 56, of Weirton, died Sunday, May 26, 2002 at her residence. She was born September 2, 1945 in Weirton, a daughter of Anna W. Whalen Hughes of Weirton, WV, and the late John S. Hughes. Sheila retired with 35 years of service from the Weirton Steel Company where she worked in the Accounts Payable Department of the General Office. She was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weirton Steel 25-year Club, and AARP. In addition to her mother, Sheila is survived by two sisters, Genevieve A. Heasley of Monroeville, PA, and Karen A. Bryan and her husband Richard of Weirton; one brother, John P. Hughes and his wife Lorraine of Austintown, OH; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 PM Tuesday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 PM Tuesday. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Wednesday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be at St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton, WV. Sheila always thought of others first and was a friend you could count on to listen to all of your problems and never mention her own.Thank you for being my friend.   4. I wanted to say what a wonderful friend Sheila was to everyone. I worked with Sheila for 15 years and she was a wonderful person. We had alot of good times that I will never forget. I’m sure that God and St. Patrick where waiting too greet her at the gates of heaven.
