Sherman Lamont Williams, 68, of Weirton, WV died Friday January 23, 2015, at the Trinity West in Steubenville, OH.
Born on December 26, 1946, in Steubenville, OH, Sherman was a son of the late Ronald Williams, Sr. and Blance Phares Williams. Sherman was also preceded in death by his wife, Yolanda (Gibson) Harper; his brothers, Ronald "Fritz" Williams, Jr. and Raymond Williams.
A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Sherman worked in customer service for Krogers and Mountaineer Racetrack and Gaming Resort.
In his free time, Sherman loved to play basketball and volunteer his help with the Fritz Williams Summer Basketball League. He also enjoyed science fiction movies and soap operas.
He is survived by his son, Saudi Harper and his daughter, Ayana Harper and her fiance Dante Jeter; his three grandchildren, Gianna, Kameryn, and Jordin all of Weirton, WV.
Visitation will be Monday from 11 AM until the time of his funeral services at the 1 PM at the Shiloh Apostolic Faith Church 3000 Weir Avenue Weirton, WV.
Dr. D. W. Cummings, Pastor will preside.

So very sorry to learn of Sherman’s passing. I work at Kroger’s and always remember him with a smile on his face! He would always have something nice to say to me and make ME smile! May all your memories help you through the days ahead.

Saudi and Ayana you have my deepest sympathy and prayers on the passing of your Dad. I have know Sherman all of my life. Grew up on North End of Weirton with him.Always had a smile on his face.
