Stanley J. Haber, Jr., 64, of Weirton, passed away Monday, February 14, 2011 at his home. Born November 10, 1946 in Steubenville, OH, he was a son of Lucy J. Sciarreno Haber of Weirton and the late Stanley J. Haber, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his brother Michael D. Haber and sister Marlene Haber. Mr. Haber retired from Weirton Steel where he worked as an operator on the galvanized line in the Sheet Mill. He attended St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. A Purple Heart recipient, he served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Stanley was a member of the American Legion Post 10 and always enjoyed playing a round of golf with his friends. In addition to his mother, Stanley is survived by his wife Pamela Peters Haber of Weirton, whom he married July 20, 1968 and daughter Stacy L. Haber of Glendale, Arizona. Friends will be received Wednesday from 4-8 pm at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10am Thursday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. The Reverend Father Cesidio Federico will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery where Military Services will be conducted by the American Legion Firing Squad.

  21. I’m so sorry to hear the news of Stanley’s passing. I’ll always remember the fishing trips when I was younger with my grandfather and Stanley. Those were the highlights of my younger days. In recent years I sometimes ran into Stanley at the airport and it was always great to see and talk to him. He will be truly missed.
