He was born November 6, 1917 in Carnegie, Pa., son of the late Kazmier and Mary Zombek Kopia . A brother William Kopia also preceded him. Mr. Kopia retired from National Steel Corp. where he worked as a foreman in the Steubenville Plant with 42 years service. He was a member of the Weirton Steel 25 Year Club, National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, Inc., and Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Weirton, WV He is survived by his wife Rose Wiersbicki of Weirton, a son Leonard P Kopia and his wife Mary Ella of Williamsburg, Va., a daughter Margaret Norbutt and her husband Bill of Pittsburgh, Pa., 5 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Visitation will be Sunday March 4, 2001 from 1-3 and 7-9PM at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St, Weirton, WV. Entombment will be in St. Paul Cemetery Mausoleum, Weirton, WV.
