Stephanie M. Klar of Weirton passed away at Carriage Inn of Steubenville with her family by her side on Monday, August 29, 2022. She was 72 years old. She was born on September 13, 1949, one of four children to Stanley John and Alice Louise (Kain) Walenciej. Stephanie was a member of the Sacred Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Weirton and a member of the 1969 graduating from Steubenville “Big Red” High School. Her children said that their mother was the first one ready to go if a day trip was mentioned, she loved to shop. She would often travel for the day with her friends and cousins to Amish country and the Rogers sale. They went on to say that she would do anything for anybody, she had a big heart and shared her love with many. Anyone who knew Stephanie, knew that she was dependable and generous to a fault, she supported anything American, and she was passionately patriotic. She held these values because her father, uncles, brother, husband, and son were all veterans, and she was proud of the time in which they had served. In her spare time, Stephanie enjoyed reading, cooking, nurturing her family, and letting everyone know that the best thing in her life, was her grand and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Stephanie was preceded in death by her husband Jack Edwin Klar, and brothers Stanley J. Walenciej Jr. and Terry Bise. Left to cherish her memory with love and admiration are her children, Charles Klar, Jackie (Aaron) Crago, and Jennie (Paul) Skaggs all of Weirton, grandchildren Elizabeth Wilson, Lucas Collett, Jack, and Stephanie Crago, great-grandsons River and Michael, and great-granddaughters Eve and Kaylee. A Liturgy of the Word Service was held on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home. Monsignor Joseph Peterson presided. Stephanie will be buried in Saint Paul Cemetery.
