Susan Rae Schrader, 73, of Weirton, WV, passed away on Friday January 10, 2025.

She was born on July 28, 1951, in Chicago, IL, one of three daughters born to Dallas and Ann Dopudja Besaw. Around the age of three, her family relocated to Weirton, where she spent her formative years and graduated from Weir High School in 1969.

On July 17, 1971, Sue married Clyde Eugene “Gene” Schrader. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and family, raising three sons and cherishing five grandchildren.

Sue dedicated over 20 years as the office manager for McCauslen’s Florist in Weirton.

Sue was baptized in the Orthodox faith and previously attended Holy Resurrection Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church in Steubenville.

Sue’s family was the center of her world. She took immense pride in her sons and grandchildren, attending their sporting events and activities with unwavering support. Known for her loving heart and sharp wit, Sue could win any argument, always standing her ground with a smile.

A devoted Pittsburgh Pirates fan, Sue loved cheering on her team at PNC Park. Although she enjoyed her trips to Bradenton, Florida, she always went in the summer.

Sue will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 53 years, Gene; her three sons, Kevin (Rachael), Eric, and Scott Schrader; her five beloved grandchildren, Wyatt, Brendan, Hayden, Hadley, and Everett; and her sisters, Shelli (Bob) Bushman and Nikki Born.

Private family services will be held at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton.
