Thomas C. “T.R.” Robertson of Weirton passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was 75. Tom was born in Steubenville, OH on October 15, 1946, to Leonard W. and Doris Marie Mentzer Robertson. Tom graduated from Weir High School in 1964 and continued his education at West Liberty State College. In 1968 Tom was inducted into the United States Army, where he served his country in the Vietnam War. After returning from the war, T.R. joined Weirton Steel where he eventually retired from the information technology department at the Weirton Steel. With a very talented and creative mind, Tom found enjoyment in photography, music, painting, electronics, and operating ham radio. Most of all T.R. will be remembered as a bright generous gentleman with a quiet, and kind personality. Tom was preceded in death by his parents. He will be remembered with love by his family that includes Georgette Mentzer Henry, David, Ronnie Jim Robertson, Darla Lutz, Darrell and Duane Caldwell and his lifelong friends, including David Guglielmo. To honor the way T.R. would have wanted it; his visitation and service will be private. He will be laid to rest with his parents at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The next time we hear the song My Way by Frank Sinatra let’s remember T.R. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hancock County Animal Shelter or to the Hancock County Humane Society. Share tributes and memories at www.grecohertnick.com
