Thomas E. Rose, 87, of Weirton, passed away Monday, August 15, 2016 in Life Line Hospital, Wintersville, OH. He was born April 19, 1929 in Mill Point, WV, a son of the late Lee V. and Lilly Ethel Jackson Rose. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Bernard, Leonard and Donald Rose.
Mr. Rose retired from Weirton Steel, where he served as a General Foreman in the Construction Department. After his retirement, he worked at the Louis Berkman Company in Steubenville, OH. He was Methodist by faith, a member of the WSX 25-Year Club and loved camping, fishing and hunting. He got the most enjoyment from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Thomas is survived by his wife Freda "JoAnn" Lemley Rose of Weirton, whom he married October 2, 1951; son Carl (Brenda) Rose of Litiz, PA; daughters Paula Wright and Diane Kostecki both of Weirton; brother Kenneth Rose of Dover, OH; sisters Janet (Alfred) Dean, Carolyn McCloud, and Patricia (Jack)Loudermilk all of Marlinton, WV; grandchildren Teresa (Tom) Jones, Jennifer Juhl, Michael Rose, Jessica (Mike) Wayt, Tom Rose, Jacqueline (Bradley) Gronsky, five great grandchildren and his canine companion Francy.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be celebrated Thursday at 11AM. Reverend Larry Barkley will officiate.
Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton where military services will be conducted by the American Legion Honor Guard.

Dear Friends, First off we are so sorry for the loss of your dad and grandfather. I’ll always remember his smile or a wave , he always made time stop and talk no matter how busy he was . His gentle manner will always be remembered by me. Finding out he was at Life Line Hospital reminded me of my five months there in 2010.you couldn’t find a better staff to care for your loved one. Dear JoAnn, Diane, Carl, Paula and families, I am so sorry for your loss. Tom was a very kind and strong man. I will forever remember his wonderful smile.
