Tom was born in Steubenville OH on October 22, 1941, one of four sons born to John and Dorothy Rusen Kendrick. He was a proud graduate of Weirton Madonna High School and retired from Weirton Steel with over 30 years of service in the accounting department.
At close to 7 feet tall, Tom was known as the “Gentle Giant” a name which he embraced and wore well. He is remembered as a kind, loving, honest man who was a soldier of Christ. Toms’ faith was always an integral part of his life where he focused on serving others, predominantly the youth and elderly of the community. Tom volunteered with the Big Brothers Program where he mentored the youth of the community. Throughout his retirement, he spent his days (and holidays) visiting with and taking communion to the long-term care and hospital patients of the parish. Tom was always known to guide and teach others in lessons of faith and life.
Tom enjoyed traveling the world and playing hours of Pinochle on the weekends with his friends and family. He loved to spend time with his family and was always supportive and active in the lives of his nieces and nephews. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his best friend, soulmate, and his wife of 48 years, Barbara.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by brothers John and Nick Kendrick and brother-in-law Joseph McCoach Jr.
Tom is survived by his loving wife Barbara Kendrick of Weirton, brother Don (Kathy) Kendrick of Ponte Vedra Beach FL, sister-in-law Cheryl Kendrick of Navarre FL, sister-in-law Sheila Kendrick of Weirton, sister-in-law Sally McCoach of Houston TX, and a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Barbara. So sorry for your loss. Tom definitely was one of Christ’s soldiers. May God Grant him Eternal Peace.
Tom was a true friend and one of the finest examples of what a upright Christian man looks like! To say that we will miss him is not enough. His laugh , his smile, sound advice and guidance were treasured by all who knew him well. I am certain that the Lord welcomed him home with joy and the comforting words of “welcome my good and faithful servant!”
