Thomas Mickey Pearson

Thomas "Mickey" Pearson, 82, of New Cumberland, WV, formerly of Follansbee, WV, died Friday November 20, 2009, at the Weirton Medical Center.
He was born on May 20, 1927, in Weirton, WV, a son of the late Theodore and Crystal Heaton Pearson. Mickey was also preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew Moore on April 28, 2001, and his brother, Robert Pearson.
Mickey worked with Weirton Ice and Coal division of Starvaggi Industries, and retired in 1989 as a Superintendent with the James White Construction Company .where he worked for 20 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Weirton, and the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 132.
When Mickey was not hard at work, he and his wife, Norma could be found traveling in their motor home or relaxing at their cabin in Bruceton Mills.
Mickey is survived by his wife, Norma Rose Barnhart Pearson; his son, Theodore (Ted) Pearson, and his wife Mary of Follansbee, WV; two daughters, Karen Laurine and her husband Anthony of Weirton, WV, and Penny Moore and her husband Nick of New Cumberland, WV; nine grandchildren, Danielle Moore Helms and her husband Barry, Bree Moore Lawrence and her husband Dr. Charles Lawrence, Nickolas Moore and Tracy Locke, Brandon, Ashley Corcoran, PhD, Michael, and Christopher Corcoran, Brittany Pearson, and Tiffany Pearson; four great grandchildren, Caitlin and Trey Helms, Melanie Moore, and Pearson Lawrence.
Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Monday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV, where funeral services will be conducted at 11AM Tuesday.
Pastor George Gerbo II will preside.
Interment will follow at the Saint John Cemetery, Follansbee, WV

Mickey was one of my first bosses when I worked at Weirton Ice & Coal in 1968 after high school. He was a great influence in my life. He will be greatly missed…….
