Tonia Ranee Garan, 51, of Weirton passed away November 27, 2013, at her home. Born on November 1, 1962 in Steubenville, OH, Tonia was a daughter of Thomas Andreozzi, Sr. and the late Mildred Benzo Andreozzi, who passed away on December 5, 1979. Always known for her big heart, Tonia took care of her family when her mother passed away when Tonia was 17 years old. When she later got married her homemaker skills carried over, taking care of her husband and her two sons. She was an excellent cook, and her secret recipe for sauce, may never be duplicated. She enjoyed sports, attending her son's soccer matches and Pittsburgh Penguin games. Family vacations, to Ocean City MD, and movie nights, with her boys, were among her favorite past times. Her employment included jobs with Mountaineer Casino Racetrack and Resort, Mario's Italian Restaurant, and Marland Heights Deli. She was a member of Saint Paul's Roman Catholic Church, former member of Brooke High School Soccer Boosters, and the Past President of Lauretta B. Millsop Primary School PTA. She is survived by her father, Thomas Anderozzi, Sr. and his wife Kathy of Follansbee, WV; Her two sons, Alex Garan of Weirton, WV and Mark Garan of Morgantown, WV; her former husband, Bobby Garan of Weirton, WV; and her brother, Thomas Andreozzi, Jr. of Follansbee; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation will be 1-3 and 6-8 PM Thursday on Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street, Weirton where funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

  1. Tonia was only in my life for a brief time but I will cherish those memories always. We had big plans for the future of our kids, but life happens and dreams don’t always come true. I’ll miss you Tonia, especially on Christmas Eve. You were always a wonderful host! You raised two wonderful boys and I hope the best for both of them. Rest in peace until we meet again.

  10. Cousin, Even though I haven’t seen Tonia for years, I do remember my babysitting days with her for I was still a baby myself! Life is never fair or works out the way we think it should.
