Tony P. Sellitti, 67, of Weirton died Monday, November 20, 2000 at his residence, surrounded by his family. Tony was born on February 26, 1933 in Weirton, WV, the son of the late John and Pauline Pirraglia Sellitti. He was also preceded in death by one brother, John. Tony was the builder and designer of over 600 homes in the Weirton and surrounding areas. In addition to the homes, Tony built numerous apartment complexes along with various Goverment Facilities, Churches and commercial buildings through out the Ohio Valley region. Tony developed and built Country Club Estates, Riverview Estates, Bel-Air Addition and three City of Weirton Fire Stations, the Student Union Center for the Franciscan University of Steubenville, the Immaculate Conception Church in New Cumberland and the Sacred Heart of Mary Convent in Weirton. Tont P. built one of the first private swimming pools in Weirton, the Lynnwood Park Swim Club. Tony received the peoples choice award seven years in a row for being the best home builder, an accomplishment that he was very proud of. But, more importantly to Tony, he was recognized by his family as THE BEST DAD AND HUSBAND. Tony P. is survived by his wife and life long high school sweetheart, Joann Wright Sellitti, whom he married in 1954. They have four children, James J. Sellitti, Terri Sellitti Grysko, Lisa Sellitti Mogan and Dr. Tony P. Sellitti, all of Weirton and graduates of West Virginia University. Tony was a proud grandfather of eight beautiful grandchildren, James A. Sellitti, Sheena Sellitti, Carly, Connor and Olivia Mogan, Nicolette, Gabrielle and Tony P. Sellitti, III. He is also survived by one brother, Patsy Sellitti of Weirton and two sisters Anna and Pauline Sellitti of New York. Friends received 7-9 PM Tuesday and 2-4 & 7- 9 PM Wednesday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. A wake service will be held Wednesday at 3:30 PM in the Funeral Home. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Thanksgiving Day at 11:30 AM at the Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. Thomas Schiffer, officiating. Entombment in the Saint Paul Mausoleum.
