Velma V. Wilson, 93, of Weirton WV died Sunday July 31, 2005, at the Weirton Medical Center. She was born on April 9, 1912 in Proctor, WV, the daughter of the late Frank and Birdie Hoyt Trader. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Bowen, second husband Okey Yost and her third husband Frank Wilson. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Donna J. Birkhimer; two sisters, Oleva Fox and Lucy Rush, and a brother, John Trader. Velma was a homemaker and also worked for the Weirton Steel Corporation as a Tin Flopper in the Tin Mill for 10 years. She was a member of the Voice of the Pentecostal Church, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Church. She also attended the Christian Assembly Church in Follansbee, WV. She is survived by her son Harold Leon Bowen and his wife Norma of New Cumberland, WV; two daughters, Mrs. Ruben (Erma) Birkhimer of Burgettstown, PA and Mrs. Abe (Donna) Ruiz of Weirton, WV; a brother Frank Trader of Colliers, WV; two sisters, Pearl Knox of Akron, OH, and Mae Willoughby of New Martinsville, WV; ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren, and four Great-Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be 7-9 PM Monday and 2-4 & 7-9 PM Tuesday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home where services will be held 11AM Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Keenan and Preacher Joseph Cuomo will preside Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton Share tributes and memories with her family at www.grecohertnick.com

  2. Dear family, Just wanted you all to know that we really loved Sis Velma very much. She always encouraged our family to be all that we could be for God. She was a wonderful example! She loved the kids and they, in turn, loved her and could not wait to give her hug when she came to church. We will miss her terribly….love you all and we are praying for you all!
