Ventura P. Marano, 93, of Weirton died Friday May 30, 2014, at the Inn at Wyngate.
Born November 5, 1920 in Italy, Ventura was a son of the late Frank and Anna Marie Veltri Marano. He was also preceded in death by his three brothers, George, Giuseppe and Nunzio Marano.
Ventura was a welder and a repairman in the Weirton Steel Welding Shop. After his employment with Weirton Steel, Ventura worked an additional 15 years with Ford Motor Company.
A very independent man, Ventura was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II, as a welder and automobile mechanic.
He was a regular customer of the Stateline Restaurant in Weirton, and enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He is survived by his friends, including Tom Hagg and Shirley Kurensky
Visitation will be Monday Morning 10 AM until 10:45 AM at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV.
Mass of Christian of Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Monday at Saint Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Weirton.
Rev. Fr. Larry Dorsch will preside.
Interment will follow at Saint Paul's Cemetery, Weirton, with Military Services conducted by the American Legion Honor Guard.
