Verna B. Martinelli, 84, of Weirton, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at the Weirton Medical Center. Born February 28, 1920 in Weirton, she was the daughter of the late John and Catherine Grabeic Czerepak. Verna was also preceded in death by her brother Phillip Czerepak. Verna was a homemaker, a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, St. Joseph Christian Mothers, Weirtonian Lodge No. 183 I.S.D.A., AARP and Three Score Seniors. Verna’s survivors include her husband Earl A. Martinelli of Weirton, whom she married February 3, 1940; sons Earl Martinelli and his wife Sueko of Sacramento, CA and Ray Martinelli of Big Bear, CA; daughter Janice Sharpe and her husband Bob of Weirton; sister Helen Ciarrocchi and her husband Trent of Weirton; 6 grandchildren: Michelle, Cheri and Chris Martinelli, Robyn Sharpe, Stephanie O’Brien and Megan Stead; and 4 great-grandchildren: Brandon Martinelli, Carly Sekely, Mallorie O’Brien and Veronica Martinelli. Friends will be received Friday from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton where a Rosary service will be held at 3PM. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 1:00PM Saturday, January 1, 2005 at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church. Entombment will be at St. Paul Cemetery Mausoleum in Weirton.
