Veronica Balog

Former Weirton resident, Veronica Balog, 84, died Tuesday, July 06, 2004 at the Miller Senior Living in Indianapolis, IN. Born January 17, 1920 in Jennerstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Soltis Sabo. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Cyril Balog on May 31, 1994 and her sisters Anna Tronti, Elizabeth Mitchell and Mary Bailey. Veronica was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Weirton. Veronica’s survivors include her son Dr. C. Edward Balog of Grand Rapids, MI; sister Helen Hastwell of Wintersville, OH and four grandchildren, Melanie, C. Edward, Jr., Andrew and Madeline. Friends will be received Friday from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton where an 8PM Parastas Service will be held. Final Blessing will be held Saturday 9:30AM at the funeral home followed by 10AM funeral services at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church. Reverend Father Edward Lucas will preside. Interment will be at St. Paul Cemetery in Weirton. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, 3116 Elm Street, Weirton, WV 26062.
