Victoria Higgins

Victoria Higgins, 93, of Weirton, died Saturday, April 20, 2002 at the Weirton Medical Center. She was born on February 7, 1909 in Pittsburgh, PA, a daughter of the late John and Veronica (Stebulak) Marek. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth S. Higgins, on March 4, 1990; a son, Stanley A. Higgins; a brother, Stanley Marek; and a sister, Pauline Bish. Victoria was a homemaker, a member of the Sacred Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, and a member of the Polish Women’s Alliance of America. Victoria is survived by one son, Kenneth S. Higgins of Moorehead City, NC; two daughters, Dorothy Robinson and her husband Harry of Weirton, and Nancy Reyes of Merizo, Guam; fourteen grandchildren: Michele, Michael, Mark, Sean, and Brian Robinson; Andrew, David, Stanley, and Anthony Higgins; Kin Allen, Stephen, Matthew, and Amy Reyes; and Jessica Ferrari; and eleven great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 1-3 and 7-9 PM Sunday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where a vigil service will be held at 8:30 PM. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 1 PM Monday at the Sacred Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.
