Virginia Athelea Starkey

Virginia Athelea Starkey, 82, of Weirton, passed away Monday, April 6, 2009 at the Brightwood Center in Follansbee, W.Va. Born December 3, 1926 in Salem, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Ora and Ruth Richards Cox. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Blaine and Donald Cox and sisters LaVonne Fox, Phyllis Adams, Nadine Cottrill and Romaine Bonnell.
Mrs. Starkey was a homemaker and attended the Chapel Hill Wesleyan Church in Weirton.
Virginia is survived by her husband of 56 years, Keith W. Starkey of Weirton; daughters Nancy Pulice and her husband Michael of Weirton and Tammy Starkey of Massillon, OH; sisters Carol Sweet of Baltimore, MD and Connie Cox of Danville, W.Va; grandchildren James Pulice and his wife Kelly of Weirton and Stephanie Casey and her husband Wayne of Charleston, W.Va. and great-grandchildren Lucky and Carmela Pulice and Carissa Casey.
Friends will be received Thursday 4-7PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Additional visitation will be held Saturday from 10 until the 11AM funeral services at the Chapel Hill Wesleyan Church, 141 Gilson Avenue, Weirton. The Reverend Marvin Taylor will officiate. Entombment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
