Virginia Lou Boyd of Weirton passed away at Brightwood Center on Saturday, January 21, 2023. She was eighty-three years old.
Virginia was born in Holliday’s Cove, on November 9, 1939, one of three children born to Shannon R. and Virginia Belle Campbell Weaver.
She was a member of the Paris Nazarene Church and graduated from Weir High School in 1957. She had previously worked for C&P Telephone Company as a telephone operator, at the Bank of Weirton and eventually retired from Wheeling National Bank.
Virginia was known to many as a loving, thoughtful individual who loved the Lord. In her spare time, she spent many days traveling and camping with her husband David. The most memorable trips they took together happened every Memorial Day Weekend when they would venture to Gatlinburg, TN., to watch the Gaither’s vocal performance.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her brother Richard Weaver.
Remember her fondly with love are her husband David Boyd of Weirton whom she married on July 29, 1972, and her sister Patricia Bell, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with David and his family on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at the Paris Nazarene Church where they will be present from 10 am until the time of her 11 am Memorial service.
Reverend Joe Ryan will officiate.
Inurnment will be in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery at the convenience of Virginia’s family.
