Walter ''Pete'' Cassella

Walter ''Pete'' Cassella, 71 of Weirton, WV died Saturday July 14, 2001 at his residence. He was born on June 22, 1930 in Weirton, WV, the son of Perry Cassella of Weirton and the late Mabel Hill Cassella. He was also preceded in death by his wife Idell Elizabeth Davidson Cassella on January 16, 1999, and his sister, Jean Kurucz. He retired from Chemical Leman Truck Lines and Koppers after 45 years of service as a truck driver. Pete was also a retired Sprint Car Race Driver. He was a member of the Eldersville United Methodist Church. Also surviving, besides his father are his 4 sons, William P. and his Wife Sharon, Leonard E. and his wife Mindy and Mark W. Cassella all of Weirton and Robert D. and his wife Sherry Cassella of New Cumberland, WV; a sister, Dolly Lantz of Weirton , eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday 7-9 PM and Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home. Final arrangements are incomplete.
