Walter R. Kennedy
May 17, 1928 ~ February 15, 2003
Walter R. Kennedy 74 of Weirton, passed away February 15, 2003 at Brightwood Nursing Home in Follansbee, WV. He was born May 17, 1928 in Burton, WV the son of the late Ellet E. and Della F. Lemley Kennedy.
His brother Lester Kennedy and three sisters, Lilly Kennedy, Permila Himelrick and Ruth Wade also preceded him.
Walter retired from National Steel Corp. where he worked in the Coke Plant Department as a door machine operator. He had 32 years of service and was a member of the 25-year club. He was Protestant by faith.
He is survived by his wife Mary Watson Kennedy of Weirton, four sons, Ken and His wife Willadene, John and his wife Tammy, and Tom Kennedy all of Weirton, and Bruce and his wife Rita of Germany. He has three sisters, Viva Stottlemire of Hundred, WV, Pearl DeBolt of Mannington, WV and Inez Hamilton of New Martinsville, WV. He has six grandchildren three great grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 18, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St, Weirton, WV where services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday in the funeral home.
Interment will be at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee, WV.
