Walter Ray Alley, Sr.

Walter Ray Alley, Sr., 81, of Weirton, died Sunday, May 11, 2003 at the Weirton Medical Center. He was born May 19, 1921 in Cameron, WV, a son of the late John Webster Alley and Sarah (Kent) Alley. He was also preceded in death by one son, Walter “Jim” Alley, Jr. and his brothers and sisters. Walter retired from National Steel where he worked as a lineman in the Sheet Mill. He was Protestant by faith. Walter is survived by his wife, Mary O. (Wise) Alley of Weirton; two sons, Harold Alley of New Cumberland, and Don Alley of Weirton; two daughters, Judy Dawson of Hewett, WV and Brenda Archer and her husband Steve of Heiskell, TN; ten grandchildren and several great grandchildren; and the family pet, Bud. Visitation will be 7-9 PM Tuesday at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton where funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday with Minister Steven Smithbauer presiding.
