Wesley John O'Karma, 67 of Weirton, died December 24, 2000 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pa. He was born on January 21,1933 in Weirton, WV, the son of the late John (Jack) and Anna Budno O'Karma. Mr. O'Karma retired from the Weirton Steel Company Industrial Engineering Department where he worked 35 years as an Industrial Engineer. He served his country in the Korean War with the US Coast Guard. He was a member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus in Weirton, the 25 Year Club of Weirton Steel Co., and the Weirton Steel Co. Management Club. He was also a member of St. Joseph's the Worker Catholic Church in Weirton. He is survived by his wife Margaret D'Alesio O'Karma of Weirton. One son John O'Karma and his wife Michelle of Weirton, WV, two daughters Mrs. Kevin Veralynne Sansalone of Fairmont, WV., Dr. Kara O'Karma and her husband Christopher Orecchio of Weirton, WV. One sister Mrs. John Anne Micklos of Weirton, WV. Three grandchildren, Lauren, Alexandra, and Sofia Sansalone of Fairmont, WV. Visiting hours are Wednesday, 2-4 & 7-9PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton. There will be a prayer service at 8:00PM Wednesday in the funeral home. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10:00AM Thursday at the St. Joseph the Worker Church in Weirton, WV. Committal services will be at St. Paul's Cemetery Military grave side services will be conducted by the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Tri-State Marine Corps.
