Willard Dale “Butch” Falls, Jr., 61, of Fairmont, WV, a remarkable man known for his incredible versatility and resilience, passed away on June 29, 2024, at the age of 61. Born on December 13, 1962, to Willard and Margarethe Nega Falls, he was the second of their three children.
Butch was a true jack of all trades, possessing an extraordinary mechanical aptitude. Whether it was rebuilding a transmission or designing and constructing a house, his skills were both diverse and impressive. At one point in his career, he owned and operated Falls Trucking, showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit and dedication.
Despite facing significant health challenges in recent years due to complications from diabetes, including the loss of his vision and kidney function, Butch remained a symbol of strength and determination. His children often remarked that he was the strongest man they ever knew, likening his endurance to having 25 lives. Even after suffering a severe stroke in October 2020, his stubbornness and selflessness shone through.
Butch’s love for his family, especially his granddaughters, was boundless. He cherished every moment with them and was filled with joy upon learning about the expected arrival of a new granddaughter in November. His legacy of resilience, mechanical genius, and unwavering love for his family will forever be remembered.
Willard is survived by his loving family which include his son, Kevin (Marie) Falls of Broadview, IL, his daughter, Kristine (fiancée – Charles Cannon) Falls of Chicago, IL; his sisters, Margaret (Terry) Tyrell of Oklahoma and Karen Wells of Fairmont, WV; and his granddaughters, Madison and Kailyn Seymour and his granddaughter due in November of 2024.
Butch’s cremation arrangements are under the direct care of the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV.
