Willard Edward Flowers, 90, of Weirton, WV, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away on January 16, 2024.
Born on July 30, 1933, in Weirton, WV to Edward and Agnes Yurko Flowers, Willard’s life was marked by God and family.
In 1956, Willard married the love of his life, Betty Bosko, and together they built a life full of joy and love. They were blessed with three daughters – Kathleen A. (Geary) Bee, Mary Elizabeth Malkovich, and Barbara Jean (Ted) Devens. Willard took great pride in his family, which extended to three grandchildren, Justin (Ashley) Bee, Jessica Bee, and Rade A. Malkovich, and four great-grandchildren, Parker, Bailey, and Sadie Bee, and Savannah Malkovich.
Willard dedicated a significant part of his life to a successful career at Weirton Steel, where he worked as an electrician in the Blast Furnace.
An avid golfer, Willard achieved the remarkable feat of a hole in one, a testament to his skill and passion for the sport. He enjoyed many rounds of golf at the former Pleasant Valley Country Club in Weirton, creating lasting memories.
Devoted to his faith, Willard was an active member of the Saint Nicholas Orthodox Church in Weirton. His involvement extended to various church activities, including serving on the Board of Trustees, the Men’s Club, the O Club, and he dedicated many years to overseeing the church cemetery. His contributions to the church community were invaluable, and he leaves behind a legacy of service.
Willard was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Flowers and Agnes Yurko Flowers Revisky, his stepfather, John Revisky, his brother, Edward Flowers, and his son-in-law, Rade Malkovich.
He will be remembered with love by his wife, Betty Bosko Flowers; his three daughters, Kathleen A. (Geary) Bee, Mary Elizabeth Malkovich, and Barbara Jean (Ted) Devens; his three grandchildren, Justin (Ashley) Bee, Jessica Bee, and Rade A. Malkovich; and his four great-grandchildren, Parker, Bailey, and Sadie Bee, and Savannah Malkovich.
Visitation will be held from 11 AM until 12 PM on Thursday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Funeral services will commence at 12 Noon, with interment to follow at the Saint Nicholas Orthodox Church Cemetery in Weirton.
Fr. Andrew Nelko will preside.

Condolences on your family’s loss.
Willard would talk of sports, but one felt real warmth in his voice when conversation might turn to family and his Russian Orthodox faith. An active church member and caretaker – he must have mowed that church & cemetery lawn hundreds of times!
Mostly I could sense his pride during family gatherings. This was a man who, with Betty, put three daughters through college! He loved his girls and openly cherished his grandchildren. Willard truly enjoyed family gatherings as well – including the food!
Several times we played golf with his old steel mill friends. Among them, I think that Willard carried a quiet pride and sense of satisfaction from his lifelong work contributions. They all did. Their respect for him – and each other – was palpable. It was a wonderful dynamic to witness.
I will miss him, and the world has suffered the loss of a good man. God Bless and hold you, Willard. And may The Lord bless, console, and bring peace to Betty and our family.
