William Allen Brown, 83, of Weirton, a hardworking family man passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022, at his home. His family was at his side.

Allen was born on January 3, 1939, in Weirton, WV, one of nine children born to Wilmer and Amelia Charlier Brown.

Allen served his country in the United States Army and provided for his family as a motor inspector and steward for eight years in the blast furnace retiring after thirty-four years at Weirton Steel.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 10.

Most of all, Allen will be remembered as a great provider for his family. He always had their back and was a hero to his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by his brothers, Sonny, Larry, and Tom Brown, and his sisters, Mae Agnes, Rose Dotson, Betty Summers, Janet Carnahan, and an infant sister.

He will be remembered with love by his wife, Andrea Halapy Brown; son, David Allen Brown (Stacy); his daughters, Kristen Lynn Richards and Kelly Ann Richards (Scott); his seven grandchildren, Matthew Brown, Amber Miller (Leslie Washington) Samantha Anderson (Buddy), Cody Miller, Alexis, Tessa, and Emma Richards; his great-grandchildren, Giana Sloan, Bella, Ava, Theo, and Spencer Brown, Brady and Amelia Anderson, Giani and Khalea Washington; and a baby on the way.

There will be no public visitation or services.

  1. Allan was truly one of the good guys. A pleasure to be around. When my son was young and he and I would visit, he kept us in stitches. He will surely be missed but never forgotten.
