William A. Ewaskey
October 11, 1914 ~ January 9, 2003
William A. Ewaskey, 88, of Weirton, died Thursday, January 9, 2003 at the Weirton Medical Center. He was born October 1, 1914 in Bridgeville, PA, son of the late Michael and Charlotte Farkas Ewaskey. William was also preceded in death by his wife Ella Mae Bradley Ewaskey; son, William Ewaskey, daughter, Charlotte Rupp, brothers George and Michael Ewaskey and sisters Theresa Larch and Elizabeth Ostrowski.
After 49 years of service, William retired from Weirton Steel where he worked as a painter in the Tin Mill. He was a member of the Weirton Heights Memorial Baptist Church, WSX 25-Year Club, E. T. Weir Senior Center, AARP and was a volunteer at the Weirton Medical Center.
He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Betty Clark Ewaskey of Weirton; son-in-law Walter Rupp of Newark, Delaware; brothers Joseph and Raymond of Weirton, Leonard of Long Beach, CA, and Edward of Bridgeville, PA; sisters Dorothy Plance of Sharon, PA, Marcella Norris of Coraopolis, PA and Eva Murdacca of Carnegie, PA. William also has 4 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 11 from 7:00 – 9:00PM and Sunday from 1:00 – 3:00 and 7:00 – 9:00PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, January 13. Rev. Kregg Burris will officiate. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Weirton.
