Mr. William "Bill" J. Zeigler, Sr.

William “Bill” Joseph Zeigler passed away peacefully at his home on August 10, 2026.

Born on August 24, 1935, in Doddridge County, West Virginia, Bill was a son of Charles W. and Beulah Kimball Zeigler.

Bill married Janice Nicholson on March 18, 1958. Their bond was strong, and it is bittersweet that they departed this life on the same date—exactly eleven years apart. Bill served proudly at Weirton Steel as the Boss of the Bull Gang, earning recognition as a valued member of the 25-Year Club.

In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Bill was preceded in death by his brothers Jack, Ray, and Chuck Zeigler, along with his sisters Marcelene Swentzel and Mildred Kush.

He leaves behind his loving family: his son, Bill (Jeri) Zeigler Jr., his daughter, Tammy (Mark) Fink, and his grandchildren, Jesse (Brandy) Zeigler, and Justin (Whitley) Zeigler. Bill was also proud to be a great-grandfather to Grayson, Jackson, and Madalyn Zeigler, also survived by brother Tom Zeigler, sisters Edna Dettman and Patsy Zeigler, and his four-legged companion Mia.

Friends are invited to visit Bill’s family on Saturday, August 15, at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, from 10am until the time of his 11:30am service.

Burial will follow immediately in New Cumberland Cemetery.
