William Edward Locascio
June 27, 1919 ~ September 24, 2005
William Edward Locascio, 86, passed away September 24, 2005 at the Weirton Geriatric Center. He was born on June 27, 1919 in Steubenville, Ohio. He was the son of the late Angelo and Anna Ferrante Locascio. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Catherine Anne, his five brothers, Sam Locascio, Charles Locascio, Joe Locascio, Mike LoCascio, and John Locascio, five sisters, Mary Salomone, Rose De Luca, Lucille Moore, Roslyn Parker, and Julie Pirraglia.
He was a retired employee of the Weirton Steel Company where he worked for over 30 years in the Sheet Mill. He was a member of the Weirton Steel 25 year club. He served his country during WWII in the US Army 11th Armored Division.
He is survived by his two children, William J Locascio of Lancaster, Ohio, and JoAnn Locascio Green of Solon, Ohio, his former wife Jane Linorell Locascio, his three grandchildren, Lauren Hilyard, Sarah Sollee, and Benjamin Green, a great-grandson, Jacob Sollee, his companion, Ruth Lawrence, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton, WV. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10:00 AM. Tuesday at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery where military services will be conducted by the American Legion Post 10 and the VFW Honor Guard.
