
William J. King, Sr.
December 16, 1928 ~ June 13, 2009
William J. King Sr, 80, of Burgettstown, Pa, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2009, at his residence.
He was born December 16, 1928, in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of the late Lee Ray and Mildred Shields King. His wife Colleen Coyle King and his son Gregory Stuart King also preceded him in death.
Prior to retirement, William owned and operated the Western Auto Store in Weirton for 36 years. He served his country as a medic in the 101st airborne division of the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
William loved horses and was an avid trap shooter.
He was a member of the Paris Sportsman's Club and the American Legion. He attended the St Thomas Episcopal Church in Weirton.
William is survived by his son, William King and his wife Nanette of New Martinsville, WV; daughters, Kristine Delong and her husband John of Bradenton, FL, and Kelly Arehart and her husband James of New Manchester, WV; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; his companion for 10 years, Edna Williams of Burgettstown, PA; and two sisters Sherrill Millsop of Phoenix AZ and Mary Hoffman of Sharon, PA.
Visitation will be Monday, June 15, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St, Weirton, WV., where services will be held 11 AM Tuesday
Pastor Judy Jerman will preside.
Interment will follow at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Florence, PA, where Military Services will be conducted by the American Legion Firing Guard.

what can I say Bill was a great man hard worker. He tought me a lot I will keep the memories of him in my heart he was great with horses and his children really had a great dad. Dear Kelly and Family, We are so sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. He was such a sweet and gentle man. Butch and I have shared his love for horses and have great memories of the farm. He even let me ride his horse the last time we went for a trail ride. You and your family will be in my prayers, as will he.
