William L. Chafin

William L. Chafin, 68, of New Cumberland, WV, died Friday, February 18, 2005 at the Weirton Medical Center. He was born October 3, 1936 in Steubenville, OH, a son of the late Lonnie H. and Jessie (Boyd) Chafin. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert Chafin.
William retired with 33 1/2 years of service from Weirton Steel Corporation. He was a member of A.A. for 21 years.
William is survived by his wife, Iris M. (Shultz) Chafin, whom he married January 28, 1960; one son, Ken Chafin; one daughter, Cindy Chafin; two brothers, David Chafin and his wife Mary and Lonnie C. Chafin and his wife Debbie; and two sisters, Anita Hendricks and Dixie Fankhouser, all of New Cumberland.
There will be no visitation or services. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Donations may be made in William’s name to either the American Diabetes Association, 1221A Ohio Avenue, P.O. Box 1115, Dunbar, WV 25064 or the American Cancer Society, Hancock County Unit, P.O. Box 2166, Weirton, WV 26062.
