William L. Chafin, 68, of New Cumberland, WV, died Friday, February 18, 2005 at the Weirton Medical Center. He was born October 3, 1936 in Steubenville, OH, a son of the late Lonnie H. and Jessie (Boyd) Chafin. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert Chafin. William retired with 33 1/2 years of service from Weirton Steel Corporation. He was a member of A.A. for 21 years. William is survived by his wife, Iris M. (Shultz) Chafin, whom he married January 28, 1960; one son, Ken Chafin; one daughter, Cindy Chafin; two brothers, David Chafin and his wife Mary and Lonnie C. Chafin and his wife Debbie; and two sisters, Anita Hendricks and Dixie Fankhouser, all of New Cumberland. There will be no visitation or services. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
