William L. Palumbo
April 20, 1920 ~ December 29, 2006
William L. Palumbo, 86, of Weirton passed away Friday, December 29, 2006 at the Weirton Geriatric Center. He was born April 20, 1920 in Weirton, WV, the son of the late Frank and Mary Pirraglia Palumbo. His wife Isabelle J. Falsetti Palumbo, brothers, Patsy, Anthony and Joseph Palumbo,
also preceded him in death.
Bill retired from the Weirton Steel Company and was a self employed Contractor in the Weirton area for many years. He served his country in the United States Coast Guard. Bill was a member of the 25 Year Club of Weirton Steel Co., St Paul Roman Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, and the Weirton Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by two daughters, Sharyn Virtue and her husband James, and Sandy Frey both of Weirton, WV; four grandchildren, Allison Palumbo and husband Chris, Jason Virtue and wife Julie, Gia Kaul and husband Chris and Gabe Frey; and six great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, January 1, 2007 from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St, Weirton, WV. A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited Monday evening at 6:00PM in the funeral home. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be Tuesday January 2, 2007, 10:00AM at St Paul’s Church, Weirton, WV.
Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens .

We are all so sorry to hear the sad news. We were away and found out only recently. We will never forget what a wonderful man and neighbor he was. Our children to this day still talk about the treehouse he built for them! God bless and keep all of you.
