Alvin Ernest Hecathorn, 90, of Pompano Beach FL., formerly of Weirton passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015. Alvin was born May 12, 1925 in Pine Grove, PA., the son of the late Joseph T. and Luella R. Hecathorn. He was also preceded in death by his wife Kathryn Bartolovich Hecathorn. Alvin was retired from working in the sales industry. He was a World War II Army Air Corp Veteran serving in the 22nd Bomber Group, 19th Squadron in the South Pacific. He is survived by son Jim (Lynn) Hecathorn of Alpharetta, GA, and daughter Joan (Kevin) Wally of Pompano Beach FL, grandchildren David (Heather) Mroczkowski and Harlan Walley, great-granddaughter Allie Mroczkowski, sisters Sara Beveridge and Lurla Stromyer as well as three nephews and one niece. A Committal Service, along with Military Honors, will be held at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens in Follansbee at 12:00 PM Wednesday.
