Anita Marie Castillo, 80, of Weirton, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013 in the Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville, OH. Born July 8, 1932 in Steubenville, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Locascio DeLuca. She was also preceded in death by her husband Richard Castillo on January 11, 2005 and brothers Robert and Edward DeLuca. Anita was a secretary and later a pre-school teacher at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Grade School. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church and Christian Mothers. Anita enjoyed spending time with her family and truly loved watching her twin granddaughters, Mackenzie and Madison, dance. Mrs. Castillo is survived by her sons Richard J. (Kathryn) Castillo of Naples, FL and Robert M. (Darlene) Castillo of Ohio; daughter Lisa M. (Matt) McDonald of Bloomingdale, OH; brother Vincent (Mary Ann) DeLuca of Weirton; grandchildren Madison, Mackenzie, Brittany, Ashlee, Brennan and Christina; great-granddaughter Alaina Castillo and her sister-in-law Elaine Castillo, who was like a daughter to her. Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Liturgy with Mass that will be celebrated 1PM Friday at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church. The Reverend Father Manuel Gelido will officiate.

  1. Anita was a dear friend and employee for many years. She was a wonderful person, always willing to help in any way she could. Her family was everything to her and her pride showed in everything she did and said. She will be dearly missed. God’s blessings to all.

I now work at St. Joseph as the secretary & have the honor of taking care of her twin grand daughters the way she took care of all the students while she was there. From my earliest childhood in baseball, through St. Joe’s and Madonna HS, I have great memories of her, her late husband, children and extended family. It was an honor to know her.   17. Dear Lisa and Family, I can’t believe I’m writing this….Please accept our most heartfelt condolences for the loss of your dear mom. We were so shocked to hear of her passing, because we did not even know she had been sick. We were again saddened that we were not able to attend her service due to a professional commitment. Lisa, please know that we wish we could have been there. Your mom was special to me growing up, and she will be greatly missed. We are so, so sorry. There are just no words….May the Lord grant her eternal peace and joy, as she now looks over you and your precious family.
