Anna Mae Socha, 79, of Weirton, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2007 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Born May 20, 1928 in Weirton, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Freda Redish Sowchak. Anna was also preceded in death by her husband Louis A. Socha; brothers John and Michael Souchak and Frank Sowchak and sisters Helen Kovalik and Mary Rock. Anna was a homemaker. She was formerly employed at the Weirton Geriatric Center and Weirton Steel where she served as a sorter in the Tin Mill. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church and the Holy Rosary Society. Anna Mae’s survivors include her son Mark L. Socha and his wife Dianne of Steubenville, OH; daughter Audrey Ellenberger and her husband Bill of Weirton; grandchildren Brittany Socha, Brian Ellenberger and his wife Lisa, Aaron Ellenberger and his wife Stephanie and Matthew Ellenberger and great granddaughters Sydney and Cassandra Ellenberger. The family will receive friends Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Thursday at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Reverend Father Kent Durig presiding. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton.
