Anne Frances Garrison, 89, of Weirton, formerly of Carrollton, OH, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2009 in the Weirton Geriatric Center. Born August 20, 1920 in Slovan, PA, she was a daughter of the late Kazimer and Frances Militich. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 39 years Charles W. Garrison, Sr. on March 16, 1986, brother John and sisters Mary, Katherine and Barbara. After graduating from Burgettstown High School, Anne studied photography in New York City and later was employed at Weirton Studio. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church. Anne was a veteran of the Women's Army Corp, having served in Europe as a Sergeant during World War II. In her early years, Anne was an avid golfer and had 3 holes-in-one at the Pleasant Valley Country Club. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards, her log cabin on Leesville Lake and was a prolific reader. Anne is survived by her sons Charles (Debbie) Garrison, Jr. of Weirton and Andrew (Carol) Garrison of Fishers, Indiana and grandchildren Drew Garrison of Fishers, IN and Kelly McNally of Greenwood, IN. Friends will be received Sunday from 1-6PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10AM Monday at the St. Joseph the Worker Church. The Reverend Father Dean Borgmeyer will officiate. Interment will be in the Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Florence, PA where Military Services will be conducted by the American Legion Firing Squad. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hancock County Animal Shelter, 715 Gas Valley Road, New Cumberland, WV 26047.   8. Dear Charlie and Andy, I am so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. Our families have known each other since you were little boys. Our mothers worked together in the Tin Mill many years ago. My mom considered Annie her dear, dear friend and already misses her.they were friends since your mom was about 6 years old.
