Anne Mae Chek

Anne Mae Chek, 90, of Weirton, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2019 at her home. She was born May 6, 1928 in Cokeburg, PA, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Schervinsky Cuprik. She was also proceeded in death by her husband Joseph V. Chek on May 3, 1990, son Robert Chek and brothers Joseph and Richard Cuprik. Anne was employed in the bookkeeping departments of the former Grants Department Store and Stone & Thomas in Weirton. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church and enjoyed sewing, crafting and reading. Anne especially loved spending time with her great-grandchildren. She is survived by her son Joseph (Peggy) Chek of North Carolina; daughters Debra Visnic of New Jersey and Janice Klopfer of Illinois; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister Karen Hardey of Pennsylvania; sisters in law Betty and Linda Cuprik, Eleanor Dugas-King and Marge Trinone and brother in law Thomas Chek Friends will be received Sunday 1-5 PM at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM Monday at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church with The Reverend Father Dennis J. Schuelkens, Jr. presiding.
