Anne Marie Perkins, 87, of Weirton died Friday, July 15, 2011 at the Valley Hospice Care Center, North in Steubenville, OH. Born on May 12, 1924, in Rush Run, WV, Anne was the daughter of the late Okay and Annie Thurban Morton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Karl James Perkins, Sr. on February 5, 1980, and a brother, Clarence Morton. Anne was a homemaker who enjoyed reading, gardening, and bowling. She was employed with Fisher's Big Wheel prior to becoming a greeter at the Weirton Wal -Mart, a position she held until this past December. In her free time she enjoyed traveling and going on cruises with her daughter. She was a member of the AARP, and attended the Weirton Heights Free Methodist Church. She is survived by her son, Karl Perkins of Steubenville, OH; her daughter, Cynthia Stewart of Weirton, WV; her granddaughters, Jessica Stewart of Savannah, GA, and Erin Kelly and her husband Grant of Morgantown, WV; her two great grandchildren, Mitchell and Eve Kelly. Visitation will be 2-8 PM on Monday, July 18, 2011 at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV, where funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Tuesday. Harry Knight will preside. Interment will follow at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton. Memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice, 10686 State Route 150, Rayland, OH 43943 or to the Hancock County Animal Shelter 715 Gas Valley Road, New Cumberland, WV 26047.

  6. Annie was a dear, sweet friend. I loved working with her at WM in lawn and garden. We had some great times. She was always so much fun to be around (and was an awesome salesman). I will miss her dearly.

  9. Cindy and Jim, I worked with your Mom and Dad at Fisher’s Big Wheel years ago and my Mother-in-law Doris was friends with your family during the N. 20th St days. We are so sorry for your loss.   10. Cindy and Family, I am so sorry to hear about Annie.She was a remarkable lady that I truly loved. We worked together at Walmart and we always had a good time..I am so glad that I had a chance to visit with her before she passed I think we both enjoyed it. Again I am sorry. I want to try to make it to the funeral home to pay my respects but not sure if I will make it. But please know that we will be praying for you and your family..
