Anne Z. Messenheimer
August 4, 1919 ~ September 28, 2005
Anne Z. Messenheimer, 86, of Weirton, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at the Brightwood Nursing Home in Follansbee, WV. Born August 4, 1919 in Weirton, she was the daughter of the late George and Julia Karaffa Zakutansky. Anne was also preceded in death by her sisters June and Ethel Zakutansky.
For over 45 years, Anne owned Messenheimer Med Tech Lab in Weirton. She was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, American Association of Bio Analysts, Association of Medical Technologists, Weirton Woman’s Club, Art Department, Garden Department and the Literary Department, Pilot Club, Beta Sigma Phi, Beta Nu Chapter, and the Pittsburgh Opera Auxiliary.
Anne is survived by her daughter Carlynn Sue Van Dam of St. Louis, Missouri, and cousins Kathryn Gehres, T. K. Christenson, Joe Gehres, Tom Stayonoff, and Marta Geer.
Friends will be received Friday 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Funeral services will be at 10:00AM on Saturday at St Thomas Episcopal Church, Weirton, with Rev. James A. Reed, Sr. presiding. Interment will be at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery in Florence, PA.
