bertha frangakis
Bertha Frangakis, 85, of Weirton, WV, passed away Friday morning at the Weirton Medical Center. She was born on October 19, 1915 in Chios, Greece, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Maria Kayavas Kolakis. She was also preceded in death by her husband John Frangakis on February 6, 1974 and two sisters Jean Lazaris and Bernice Karageanes. Mrs. Frangakis was a homemaker. She was a member of the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, All Saints Senior Citizens, the Philoptochos Society, Agia Markella Society and the Weirton Daughters of Penelope Pallas Athene Chapter 276, where she was chosen twice as the ''Penelope Of the Year''. She is survived by her son, F. John Frangakis of West Middlesex, PA; her two daughters Mrs. Louis (Georgette) Fekaris of Weirton and Mrs. Alex (Marie) Kamarados of Steubenville, OH; her two sisters, Mrs. Harry (Ann) Ameredes and Mrs. Paul (Stella) Souranis both of Weirton, WV; 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday 7-9 PM at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV. Additional visitation will be Monday 10 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM at the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church 3528 West Street Weirton, WV. Trisagion services followed by Daughter of Penelope services will be held Sunday evening in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Greek section of Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton Memorial contributions may be made to the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church P.O.
