Catherine Bournias, 81, of Weirton, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2010 in the Weirton Medical Center. Born February 16, 1929 in Steubenville, OH, she was the daughter of the late Pete and Martha Bright Venetis. She was also preceded in death by her husband James "Jim" Bournias. Mrs. Bournias was the owner of the former Peoples Restaurant in Weirton and was a member of the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church in Weirton. Catherine is survived by her sons Gus Bournias of Weirton and James Bournias, Jr. and his wife Carole of East China, MI; daughter Patricia "Patty" Karastamatis of Punta Gorda, FL; grandchildren Thomas Karastamatis and his wife Jacqueline of Orlando, FL and James Karastamatis of Pittsburgh, PA and great grandchildren Evianna and Alejandro Karastamatis. Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where a Trisagion Service will be held at 7:30PM. Additional visitation will be held Friday from 10 until the 11AM funeral services at the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church. The Reverend Father Frank A. Milanese will officiate. Interment will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton. Memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, 3528 West Street, Weirton, WV 26062.
