Dolores Evkovich

Dolores Gryskevich Evkovich of Weirton passed away November 9, 2003 at the Weirton Medical Center. She was born in Steubenville, Ohio the daughter of the late Alex and Anna Kushlak Gryskevich. Two brothers John and Alex Gryskevich and a sister Jeannie Beniak also preceded her.
Dolores was a homemaker, past president of the Weirton Women’s Club, past member of the Mary H. Weir Library Board, past president of the Pleasant Valley Ladies Golf Association and a member of the Holy Resurrection Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church, in Steubenville, Ohio.
She is survived by her husband Milan “Milo” Evkovich to whom she had been happily married for 53 years. She has a son, Eli Evkovich and his wife Mary of New Cumberland, WV, a daughter Marta Wright and her husband Floyd (Shag) of Weirton. She has one brother Larry Gryskevich and his wife Theresa of Weirton, WV and three sisters, Mary Fornari of Deltona, FL, Zanovia Criss and her husband John E. of Steubenville, OH, and Shirlee Baltich and her husband Mitch of Weirton, WV. Dolores has three grandchildren Ian Evkovich, Sarah and Milo Wright, all of Weirton.
Visitation will be Tuesday November 11, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Greco-Hertnick funeral Home, Weirton, WV where a Pomen service will be held Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home on Wednesday at 11:00AM with Rev. Fr. Rade Merick officiating. Entombment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

to the family of dolores I had the honor of knowing this wonderful talented lady from the GFWC Weirton Woman’s Club she was truly a mentor to me and the leadership she always showed to me was remarkable. She is going to be so missed by her family. My prayers and thoughts are with you all especially shirley. Usually when you saw one you saw the other the true meaning of sisters. I was shocked and deeply saddened to read about Dolores’ passing. She was a strikingly beautiful, wonderful woman who always had something kind to say to others. I will miss her very, very much.
Dear Aunt Doe – Doe, I love you with all of my heart and miss you so much. Thank you for always being in my corner and loving me like one of your own children. You can’t imagine how many fond memories I have of you, and I will always carry those memories deep inside my heart. I’ll never forget the conversation that we had a couple of weeks ago, which was a visit with you that I will never forget. You were still handing out advice to me! You were always like a mother to me as I was growing up and I’m sure everyone always thought you had two daughters.
