George Michael Zevios, of Weirton, WV, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021, from COVID-19. He was 57. George was born in Weirton, WV, on April 17, 1964, to George “Zeke” and Toni Lewis Zevios. He grew up in Weirton, WV, and graduated from Weir High School in 1983. George made a career in retail sales where he worked at Kroger’s, Target, Wal-Mart, Dollar General, Speedway and was recently hired as the sales manager of Big Lots. Most of his years were with Dollar General, where he was an award-winning manager. One year, George’s s store was the most profitable Dollar General in the nation. In his free time, George enjoyed camping and riding his Harley Davidson. In addition, he was a gifted handyman and would frequently show his love by building things for his friends and family. George helped build his new home for his family. He loved teaching his son and daughter and their friends how to fix things. Around his house, he enjoyed cutting the grass and repairing and painting cars Most of all, George will be remembered as a big teddy bear with a cheerful personality, always making jokes and giving his friends and family nicknames. George was preceded in death by his parents, George “Zeke” Zevios, Toni Lewis Zevios Caulder, his infant son, Christopher Michael Zevios, and his half–brother, Russ “Rusty” McGary. He will be remembered with love by his wife, Betty Gardner Zevios, whom he married on July 23, 1997; his son, George “Brendan” Zevios; his daughters, Christina (Christopher) Flanagan and Courtney (Eric) Dripps; his sisters, Dee Zevios- Upright and Media (Joe) Zevios Myer and his loving grandson, Blake Flanagan. Visitation will be Monday 4-8 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday. Share tributes at www.grecohertnick.com
