helen marinacci
Helen A. Cagna Marinacci, 90, of Weirton, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on June 19, 2020, at the Weirton Geriatric Center. Helen was born on January 22, 1930 in Washington, PA. Her mother died at childbirth, and her family raised her in Slovan, PA. Helen graduated from Burgettstown High School and worked briefly in Pittsburgh, PA, and Kusic – Haines in Weirton, WV. Most of her life she was a strong willed homemaker taking care of her two sons, Robert and Randy. In her free time, Helen enjoyed taking care of her home, taking care of her flowers, and listening to music. In the early ’80s, her home was destroyed by fire, and she lost all of her material processions, but she never lost her faith in God and the love she shared with her family. Afterward, she married Joseph “Tex” Marinacci, and they shared many years before his passing. On January 11, 1987, tragedy struck again as her son, Randy, lost his life in an accident. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mary Repole. Through all of life’s greatest moments and trials and tribulations, Helen nourished her faith at Saint Joseph, the Worker Roman Catholic Church in Weirton. Helen will be remembered with love by her son, Robert L and his wife Cindy Cagna; her grandson, Robert L. Cagna, Jr., and his wife Shannon Cagna; and her great-grandson Aiden Robert Cagna Visitation will be6-8 PM Monday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, where funeral Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated 11 AM on Tuesday. Rev. Fr. Tony Thurston will preside. Entombment will follow at Saint Paul Cemetery Mausoleum. Share tributes or send a hug from home at www.grecohertnick.com
