James V. Haspel, 47, of Weirton, WV, passed away Monday, July 23, 2007, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. He was born September 13, 1959 in Weirton, WV. He is the son of Clifford and Marty Hulick Haspel, of Weirton. James was owner and operator of Haspel and Sons Catering Service in Weirton. James was very athletic who played and loved all sports. He especially loved going on fishing trips. He was a member of the Weirton Elks #1801. Beside his parents he is survived by his wife Lucinda Milano Haspel of Weirton; sons Jacob Haspel and his fiancée Danielle Finzel of Carnegie, PA and Joshua Haspel of Weirton; brother Clifford Haspel of Weirton; and his sister Lori Vankirk and her husband Doug of Bloomingdale, OH. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 – 8 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St, Weirton, WV. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 26, 2007 at 11:00AM in the funeral home.   1. Mr. and Mrs. Haspel, Lucy and children, I was heartbroken to hear of Jim’s passing. Jim was one of the nicest persons I ever met. What a great guy. I will forever cherish the memories of talking with Jim down at Happy’s. Jim left us way too soon and I will dearly miss him.

  12. Lu, I’m so sorry to learn of Jimmy’s passing. He was such a great guy, and I would have given anything to have been there with you at the funeral. I keep thinking of the last time I saw Jimmy at your house when we were home a couple of years ago. We didn’t know he was sick yet, and I’ll always remember how we sat and talked for hours. What a wonderful time it was for us all. I was so proud to be the maid of honor at your wedding so many years ago, and I’ll never forget Jimmy’s smile and great sense of humor.   14. I was so sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. We graduated together and I can not tell you one time when I would see him that he wouldn’t have a smile on his face and always great me with “Hi Debbie, how are you?” I pray that God will give you strength during this difficult time and the memories you have of Jim will bring you comfort.

  15. Jim was a rare breed. I’m sitting here looking at our 13 yr old allstar baseball picture,and his smile emplifies his true self. I remember his pitching motion and the way he thru the ball like it was yesterday. I will miss him like a part of my life. but I know he is in a better place than what this world has become.
