He always said and did the funniest things! I was so proud when I heard he had become a doctor. I hope that you all will find comfort knowing he is at peace. I recently lost both my brother, Robert, and my mother, who you all knew. My condolences to all of you, and please let me know if there is anything I can do for you.

  5. Dear Manack Family. I write to you with sadness in my heart as I had grown to admire Leo while visiting him on several occasions within the past year and a half. Somehow, with Leo’s spunk and beautiful personality, he highlighted my job and outlook on life. I will never forget him and will treasure the opportunity he gave to me to be part of his life. Dan, thank you so much for calling me to inform me of this unfortunate event. Leo’s family must be proud. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I am so sorry. Leo was a beautiful person and will live in many, many hearts.

  19. Aunt Dolores, Danny, Paula and family, I am so sorry for your loss. As a mother, I can’t imagine seeing one of my children pass. Leo was such a great person. You must all be so proud of his accomplishments. I last spoke to him at Aunt Jean’s 90th birthday. It is a good way to remember him. We had a good time and all enjoyed retelling stories from the old days in “the valley”. His picture reminds me of Uncle Mop. Wow what a handsome guy. I wish I could be home for the service. Please know that my prayers are with you as you grieve your loss. All my best, susan

  20. Dear Manack Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I graduated MHS with Dan in 1976 but knew Leo from his days at Allegheny General Hospital where I am still a Medical Technologist in the lab. He was good friends with a friend of mine so we had lunch and break together in the AGH cafeteria many times. I was saddened by this tragic news. May he rest in peace. Sincerely, Mary Hadobas

  28. I was sorry to hear of Leo’s death today. Not being very social myself, I didn’t know him well in school. However, from the admittedly distant perspective of a fellow classmate, he was one of the more compassionate students that I remember in the class. With that compassion he had being something that was sorely lacking in many of his fellow classmates. Unlike many of us he also had a sense of style, as the song from that era would say; he was the “sharp dressed man”. I hope that his family and friends are well and wish all of them the best.

  29. Dear Manack Family, I was so sorry to hear of Leo’s passing. I graduated with Leo from MHS and I am honored to say Leo was a dear friend and will sadly be missed.
