Leona M. "Tee" Gryskevich

Leona Maxine "Tee" Gryskevich, 86, of Weirton, passed away Monday, June 15, 2015 in the Valley Hospice Care Center North, Steubenville, OH. She was born on January 6, 1929, in New Cumberland, WV, a daughter of the late Harold and Anna Jordan Blankenship. She was also preceded in death by her husband Alex Gryskevich whom she married during the snowstorm of 1950, brothers Thomas, Robert and Roy Blankenship; sisters, Hazel Manypenny and Helen Gibbs-Detrick. For 24 years, Leona worked as bookkeeper for the former Citizens Bank / Wheeling National Bank (now WesBanco). Tee was a very active member of the Cove Presbyterian Church, where she served as secretary of the Myrtle McHendry Class, Church Elder, served on Session and was a member of the church choir. In recent years she was a member of the Oakland Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the church choir. Tee was also a member of the Oakland Fire Department Auxiliary. She will always be remembered for her passion for cross stitching. Her family and friends will always cherish her special angel patterns, for years to come. Surviving are her two sons Alex (Deborah) Gryskevich III of Weirton and Roy (Jeanette) Gryskevich of New Cumberland; brother James Blankenship of Roxboro, NC; sister Jeanette "Nettie" Lohr of Newell, WV; two grandchildren Alex Gryskevich and Tricia Wright; great-grandchildren, Ian Douglas Wright, Alex J. Smith, Ashley N. Webb, Nicolai A and Kadin J. Gryskevich; and her special companion friend, Pat Kessel. Visitation will be held Wednesday 1-3 and 6-8PM, at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Additional visitation will be held Thursday from 10 AM until time of funeral services at 11 AM at the Cove Presbyterian Church, 3404 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Reverend Dr. Ed Rudiger will officiate. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton.
