Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I remember Linda and Frank being very playful with each other especially on one of their Christmas visits to my parents in Williamstown, Massachusetts. They were throwing snowballs at each other and then made a snowman together.
Linda was a fervent Catholic. We went to La Salette Shrine together at Christmas to see the lights.
I remember Linda being such a loving mother to her children.

  2. I remember Linda as fun loving, thoughtful and generous. I was still young when Linda and Frank were dating, and I remember her taking me out shopping and to lunch. It was just Linda and I, so I certainly felt very special. She asked me my opinion on various things, and to my great surprise she presented me with a beautiful necklace when we got to the car. I will never forget her thoughtfulness and ability to make me feel special.
Later, after they married, I watched her with her children and was struck by the care and attention she paid to her family. It was clear how very much she loved them and was so proud of them!
Linda was also an artist and she did hair and makeup so elegantly. She did my hair for me for my wedding and it was so beautiful!
    Linda will be greatly missed!

  3. I remember Linda vividly when I used to visit Christine at their house back when we were in high school and college. She was such a warm and loving person, and she also was a wonderful wife and mother. I smile when I remember her boisterous laughter and fun-loving spirit, which Christine certainly inherited! She will be greatly missed!

  4. Frank met Linda Harkins at the LaSalette Retreat House in Attleboro MA, where she was helping to clean rooms after a retreat weekend. A few years later, in 1969, Linda became part of the Savoie family when she and Frank were married at the Poor Clare Monastery in Jamaica Plain MA.
While my husband and I typically were traveling to Jack’s various military assignments, we lived near Frank, Linda, and Christine for several years in RI when Frank was enrolled at the University of RI. Jack also had been assigned to URI, to teach Military Science, after his second tour in Vietnam. Jack and I and our children shared in many events with Frank, Linda, and baby Christine during those years in RI.
Linda was a devoted mother who dearly loved her children and brought her joyful energy to family gatherings. She will always be remembered and missed.

  5. I remember when you would all come to visit us in Queensbury. Christine slept with Charlene and Greg in with the boys. It was non stop laughing and teasing, and giggling. A lot of noise but that was ok. Frankie kept us in stitches. I remember when he knelt down on some slippers and made believe he was a midget. Mom and Dad were there too.. We laughed so hard , it was so funny..We have some good memories. Love. Aunt Carol

  6. What I remember most clearly was how happy she made Frank. We used to commute to Northeastern University in Boston. During the 1 hour + drive Frank would talk about Linda in very affectionate terms. In fact, that’s how I began to feel I really knew Linda. She would look at life’s strange twists and turns and was able to see opportunity in almost any situation. I will miss her exuberance and her infectious laughter, which marked her presence at family gatherings.

  7. Every thought of Linda brings to mind her beautiful, heartfelt smile of love and goodness. I never saw her upset or angry; only loving, open, ready to help in any way she could. She seemed to love being part of the family and she participated fully, always helpful and kind. She genuinely saw the best in everyone, an impressive quality given how painful I think her early life was. I remember her with love, and gratitude for all the kindness and enthusiasm she shared with me.
